Simply. Favicon.

Salutations my dear sweet Simpletons! Today's post will be short, sweet and world wide web awesome! Blogger recently (or a while ago.. whatev) added a "favicon" feature for their bloggers, which I think is great! I've had the opportunity to design favicons before but never for myself! For those of you that are unaware, a favicon is the teeny tiny little icon/logo up next to your URL...not sure why its not working where that little globe is next to my website name... hmm? Maybe its a Google Chrome thing? Huh, well I shall dig deeper into that issue later... but its on the TAB! Awww yeaa!

Favicons are relatively easy to make, if you have the right software. Luckily for ME, Blogger was kind enough to provide such a program for FREE! (Thanks dudes!)

SEE! AHH!

I have dabbled in a bit of web design before, mostly when I worked for Beartooth-Harley... oh and I'm terrible FYI... my html code reading skills are painfully beginner and highly volatile if left to my own devices... (thanks for never leaving me unchaperoned Robsterdamus!) Sooo, my powers were limited to designing online ADVERTISEMENTS aka "banners." Most websites have banners plastered e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e.... so yes, I'm a former contributor to constant annoyances on your daily web browsing commute. You're welcome :-)

While the favicon may be one small step forward in creating a "name" for myself, its only the beginning. As I've mentioned before, I have big things planned... BIG! For now, I hope this teeny tiny emblem made your day as happy as it made mine!

Herakut!

I have just made a new discovery that I MUST share! Now, through the years of my art education I've been made aware of the rise in graffiti art popularity, but up until a few months ago never paid it much attention... I don't get overly ecstatic for bubble letters written on a wall. I came across Herakut while cruising for art ideas... or shopping... I can never keep track of my constant mouse clicking. They are a stellar man (Akut) and  woman (Hera) duo of creative ingenuity.

As many of you have figured out by now, my art tends to lean towards the abstract portraiture category with a bit of spicy randomness thrown in. While my images remain unique in their own right, I am constantly comparing what I do with my art to what other are doing and secretly wishing I had their style. Alas, that will never be, almost like my desire to wear crayon colored skinny jeans with ballet flats - that trend ain't never happenin' with THIS booty yo. Oddly enough though, there are similarities in figure interpretation between their stuff and mine... but then again, I could just be drawing strings where there are none... :-)

ANYWAY... the thing I like about these Herakut cats is their figure interpretation and their... straaaaange imagination. The way they attack a gallery space is phenom and not only that, a lot of their work is on buildings. Sometimes HUUUGE BUILDINGS! To have that kind of transition in an art setting is wonderful. It's.... Simply. Fabulous! I mean, check these images out!

This is on a building in Berlin! I love the fish "helmet" ! They do this with
various other animals as well... Be-RILLIANT.

This piece is a mural in NYC... I think its titled "Chickens" ?
SWEET SOCKS! <3

I love the colors used on her face! I also love the line quality and mix
of grunge with refined detail. Superb! Mural in Culver City, Los Angeles

Hera at work. I love images of the artistic process... to see something
at its earliest stages is a sight to behold.
I cannot get over these socks!

Hope you enjoyed this little snippet into the world of a seemingly endless amount of artistic awesomeness produced by the ^above^ duo!

M.I.A.... but not the paper planes kind.

Helloooooo Dear Ones!

MANY apologies for my lack of posting. First: I went on vacation and while that would explain the first two weeks of NOT posting, it doesn't explain the last few weeks on not posting. Give me a little credit for actually scheduling a post AFTER I left. Automatic posting option, you are fabulous! Second: I have literally been completely exhausted and trying to get back on a normal "schedule." Third: computer time overload at work = no desire for computer time at home. SO, I've been spending my time at the gym and in my car and in my bed. Mmmmmm... sleepy time.

ALSO, my creativity bone has been sort of broken lately. I have not been in an inspirational mood for a while now, but have no fear! I'm working my way back to my roots... slowly... with home projects! This topic has been on my mind a lot lately. My house is still not finished, and the unfinished-ness is driving me bonkers. SO, I am currently re-doing a HIDEOUS lamp I found at a free garage sale a few years ago (photos to be posted later... although I forgot to take the "before" pictures...so you'll just be getting the "afters"... I guess I can doodle you a drawring of what it used to look like... seriously gross) AND I'm painting a dresser I bargain bought for like $30! These things are for my guest bedroom! YAY! I'm also making new discoveries for fabulous future art projects at Harbor Freight! I'll give you a hint, the future involves this little beauty:

Ain't she purdy?! It's called a "Doming Block" and it is going to provide me with massive amounts of hammer-time entertainment and wonderful new... domey things? I haven't exactly decided what I'm going to dome first... I still need to find the perfect mallet... preferably one with a delightfully girly handle! What I do know is that my art projects will be taking on new dimensions.... hehe heh. WHEEEE! Can you taste the excitement! I know, me too!

Cheerio!
